Job Title: StateImpact Multiplatform Reporter
Location: New Hamphshire Public Radio
Description: New Hampshire Public Radio is seeking a multiplatform reporter to be part of its StateImpact team. StateImpact New Hampshire is a partnership between NPR and affiliate stations, aimed at increasing in-depth reporting here and across the public media network. Utilizing enterprise and data-driven reporting techniques to examine the impact of state government on business and the economy in New Hampshire, the project encourages journalists to report on the ways that state government affects communities, individuals and businesses across the state.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated news judgment in recognizing the relative importance of a news story and in developing stories appropriately
- Excellent understanding of numbers, data and trends. Ability to analyze information and unearth the story is crucial
- Ability to tell complex, in-depth stories for broadcast audience
- Demonstrated ability in taking initiative and developing sources
- Demonstrated excellent writing skills, including radio script writing. News writing experience for print or digital a plus
- Demonstrated radio editing and production skills. Editing and/or production skills in other digital or print formats a plus
- Basic computer literacy required; blogging skills required; multi-media skills desirable
- B.A. in relevant field or equivalent
