Job Title: Program Director Broadcasting
Location: Rio Salado College/KJZZ
Description: Develops, plans and supervises the programming and operational activities of assigned staff in the division of Public Service. Responsible for overall quality of station sound.
Essential Functions: Plans, develops, recommends and implements program schedules; primary responsibility for integrating all programming elements into a coherent broadcast and digital service across all platforms of public service. Analyzes current market trends and changes to determine programming; monitors stations to ensure compliance and coordination with external and internal standards. Works with development department to support the strategies for patron support of public service; works closely with on-air staff on regularly reviewing and evaluating on-air performance; participates with on-air fundraising for public service; represents station at community events. Assists in the hiring, training and evaluation of staff; operates and instructs station equipment usage; performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Experience developing or producing news and information programs at a broadcast station - Experience training on -air staff - Experience analyzing large media trends to determine programming
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience supervising staff at a broadcasting operation
- On-air fundraising experience - News and public affairs programming experience
- Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission Regulations and Procedures
- Two or more years of experience overseeing multi-media content
- Knowledge of broadcast automation systems
- Major market broadcast experience
