Position Title: Morning Edition Producer

Organization: WVTF, Roanoke, VA

Description: WVTF & Radio IQ seek a detail-oriented broadcaster to work with our local news host to derive the maximum from public radio's most popular and most important program, NPR's Morning Edition.  The producer will be responsible for providing support in various areas; gathering continuity/promos; conducting interviews; producing stories; freshening up content; answering phones; assisting with the monitoring of multi-program streams originating from our Roanoke broadcast center; and other technical duties.

Required: Requires strong computer skills including audio production and editing; demonstrated knowledge of news writing/text editing, interviewing, and reporting; experience with broadcast equipment in the studio and in the field; candidate should possess a professional sound in live and recorded work; strong communication skills; must have the ability to work under deadline pressure and handle multi-tasking duties. Preferred: Public radio experience; digital audio  capture/editing systems experience; experience with wire capture/text systems or related broadcast software and equipment; familiarity with the coverage area. Hourly wage.
