Title: News Producer

Organization : Northwest Indiana Public Broadcasting, Inc. (WLPR-FM)

Description :  Lakeshore Public Radio is seeking a full-time news producer for its morning and mid-day news programming.  The news producer at WLPR will be responsible to researching stories and producing copy for daily newscasts.  Using emergency beat calls, wire copy, news releases, scanners, and other resources, the producer will create new copy and refresh current copy to help the morning anchor create fresh, relevant, and accurate newscasts for a our fast-paced morning show.  The producer is also responsible for downloading sound for news and morning features.  After the morning newscast, the producer will anchor morning news cut-ins during NPR and local programming.  They will also be expected to gather phone interviews and provide one to two fresh stories for the afternoon anchor to use and brief the afternoon anchor on the big stories of the day. 

Qualifications:  Applicants must have a valid driver's license and safe driving history.
