Description: Greensboro Bureau Chief North Carolina Public Radio, WUNC-FM, the public radio station licensed to the University of North Carolina, seeks a full time reporter to work in our Greensboro bureau. This general assignment reporting position includes spot news, interviews, and feature reports. Must conduct both pre-recorded and live interviews in a professional and engaging fashion and provide quick-turnaround news reports and issue-oriented feature reports emphasizing in-depth, well-researched reporting. Position requires a flexible schedule with occasional weekend work and occasional travel around the state. The reporter will be primarily responsible for coverage in the Greensboro and Triad region. May require some on-air substitute work for other news or talk programs. The position also requires participation in on-air fund drives, station promotional events and staff meetings. The reporter may also be asked to contribute spot news and news features to NPR and other networks. WUNC is headquartered in central North Carolina, consistently rated among the top areas to live in the country. The ocean and mountains are just a few hours away. North Carolina Public Radio reaches about a quarter of a million listeners weekly and consistently has among the highest shares and ratings among all public radio stations in the country, with competitive salaries and benefits.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism or related field required. Master%u2019s degree beneficial. Minimum of three years experience in radio reporting/anchoring. Experience with standard recording, editing and broadcast equipment is required. Public radio experience preferred.
Salary: $35,000 to $50,000
