Title: Broadcast Operations Specialist
Organization: Iowa Public Radio
Description: Iowa Public Radio (IPR) seeks a detailed and committed broadcasting professional to join our operations staff as Broadcast Operations Specialist. Located in the Ames office, this individual is responsible for monitoring and preparation of the broadcast product package in order to provide a consistent, high-quality product for listeners. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing support and maintenance around the computer-controlled automation system as well as audio and transmitter systems as they relate to broadcast operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in communications, broadcasting, or related field;
* and one year of full-time radio experience, either commercial or non-commercial, with automation systems, including: traffic file importing, audio maintenance supporting the play-out of locally-hosted music, and troubleshooting experience with automation system play-out issues/off-air issues.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* 3 or more years of radio experience, especially as it relates to radio broadcast operations for public radio, including the use and daily operation of an automation system similar to NexGen, Audiovault, or ENCO, either in a commercial or non-commercial radio broadcast environment;
* Digital audio editing experience, including Adobe Audition or similar editing software;
* Board operator experience, talk show production or live announcing experience;
* Traffic production and/or music scheduling experience, or music library data management;
* Familiarity with ISDN codecs, CD players, DAT machines, and other standard broadcast equipment;
* Solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office 2007 Suite;
* and Basic familiarity with other operating systems/ platforms, including Mac OS, Linux systems, etc.
Salary: $35,000 to $49,000
