Job Title: Announcer
Location:Oregon Public Broadcasting
Description: OPB seeks a part-time Announcer with news reading experience to join our skilled team weeknights from 6 to 10pm. OPB is the largest cultural and education institution in the region, delivering excellence in public media to 1.5 million people each week through television, radio and the Internet. Widely recognized as a national leader in the public broadcasting arena, OPB is a major contributor to the program schedule that serves the entire country. OPB is one of the most-used and most-supported public broadcasting services in the country and is generously supported by 115,000 contributors. Requirements:
- Broadcast experience as announcer/board operator
- Pleasant voice and excellent on-air reading skills
- Excellent writing and listening skills %u2022 Must be capable of operating broadcast equipment
- Must be computer literate
- Able to make appropriate decisions under stress
- Experience with digital broadcast equipment
- Demonstrated ability to handle newscasts and breaks within a program clock
- Experience with editorial decisions in newscast production
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work with a wide variety of disciplines (reporters, spot editors, associate news director and weekday hosts)
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to service and an aptitude for public broadcasting
- Genuine enthusiasm for the services and mission of Oregon Public Broadcasting
