Position Title: Senior Field Correspondents
Organization: KJZZ, Fronteras: Changing America Desk
Description: Senior Field Correspondents (6). The SFCs will report for a 5 state regional network as part of the Fronteras project. One reporter will be based at bureaus in each of the following locations: Las Cruces, NM, San Antonio, TX, Phoenix, AZ Flagstaff, AZ, Tucson, AZ and Las Vegas, NV. These reporters will be motivated self-starters capable of meeting deadlines under remote supervision. They will be reporting both spot news and in-depth stories of interest in the 5-state region, and may be required to travel regionally and internationally. The SFCs will be required to file each story across multiple media platforms, including audio, video, still photos and text. They will be expected to work well with their colleagues, and may edit other SFCs' work. All will be on call around the clock to respond to breaking news, as needed. The editorial team will count on the SFCs to monitor stories in their part of the region, and to succinctly fit those stories into the bigger regional picture, both on-air, and in daily editorial meetings. While the SFCs will have significant independence to pursue stories of interest and importance, meeting any and all deadlines, will be of paramount importance.
