Position Title: Radio Producer (Job ID# 1332)

Organization: KWMU, St. Louis
 
Description: KWMU-FM, National Public Radio affiliate in St. Louis is seeking a Radio Producer to plan, develop, and produce news features and spots for broadcast during news programming. Duties would include but not be limited to the following: develop ideas for news stories and features. Research, write, produce and edit news stories. Conduct studio, remote, and phone interviews. Develop topics, secure guest, write and produce segments from public affairs programs that air during weekday news programming. Serve as back-up newscaster for network news programs. Participate in station development and promotional functions. Perform related duties as assigned.
   
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a communications related area is required. A minimum of two years reporting experience is necessary.
Candidates for the Producer/Newscaster position must meet KWMU's standard of NPR-style reporting, conversational on-air delivery and excellent writing and editing skills. Additional Information: Hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm but must be flexible as hours vary.
