Position Title:News Host/Reporter
Organization: WBAA AM and FM
Description: Serve as local news host and general announcer. Serve as assistant news assignments editor. Conduct interviews, edit and produce news reports and feature reports. Host duties include editorial control of local news content, initiating local news coverage based on analysis and interpretation of public events and issues, gathering, writing, editing and delivering news.
Required: Bachelor's degree in communication or related area. Three years
experience as a news producer/reporter, feature producer and
interviewer. Excellent verbal/written communication skills, strong
interviewing skills. Proficiency with personal computer and related
software skills. General radio announcing/hosting skills. Ability to
use standard broadcast equipment. FLSA: Exempt (not eligible for
overtime). TIAA/CREF contribution waiting period. A check of criminal
conviction records and a motor vehicle report check will be made for
employment in this position.
