Annual Membership Dues

The PRPD dues year runs July 1 through June 30.  Dues will be prorated after the first quarter of the initial year of application.  Apply for membership using our online application form. 

PRPD offers three categories of membership:

Station Membership

Dues are calculated on a sliding scale based on each licensee's revenue, plus a fixed base amount paid by every member. This sliding fee structure is based on a station's NFFS certified by CPB. (Non-CPB qualified stations fees can submit other documentation of revenue). All employees of a member station are eligible for benefits.

July 1, 2011 - June 30, 2012 dues (based on 2009 NFFS)

Dues = $260 base + (0.00052 x NFFS to $3 million) + (0.00026 x NFFS on next $5 million) excluding capital income.

Minimum and a maximum dues levels:

  • No station will pay less than $400.
  • No station will pay more than  $3,500.

 

July 1, 2012 - June 30, 2013 dues (based on 2010 NFFS)

Dues = $275 base + (0.00055 x NFFS to $3 million) + (0.00027 x NFFS on next $5 million) excluding capital income.

Minimum and a maximum dues levels:

  • No station will pay less than $425.
  • No station will pay more than  $4,000.

Institutional Membership

Based on budget, PRPD offers four (4) tiers of institutional membership. This category also applies to for-profit businesses serving public radio

July 1, 2011 - June 30, 2012

Annual Budget of $3 Million and Over = $3,500
Annual Budget $1 Million to $3 Million = $1,700
Annual Budget $500,000 to $1 Million = $1,100
Annual Budget under $500,000 = $780

 

July 1, 2012 - June 30, 2013

Annual Budget of $3 Million and Over = $4,000
Annual Budget $1 Million to $3 Million = $1,900
Annual Budget $500,000 to $1 Million = $1,250
Annual Budget under $500,000 = $800


Individual Membership

Individual memberships pay a single flat rate. Only those working as one person entities, that is; who do not have any additional employees nor are themselves receiving salary or employee benefits from a station or institution – qualify for individual membership.  Annual dues are $370.
